Get to know Macha's Yard Maintenance

Hello there, I'm Mark Macha, and I'd love to share a bit about myself with you.

I'm a hands-on owner who thrives on the diversity and occasional chaos that comes with juggling multiple businesses.

It's a balancing act, no doubt, but I believe in finding that sweet spot where you can grow a business while still being an active part of my kids' young lives. And let me tell you, that can be a real challenge!

I've got a background in customer service and a degree in business management from UW Stout. My journey started in the hospitality industry, running multiple taverns and restaurants in places like Hartford, Howard, and Kelly Lake, Wisconsin.

Those experiences paved the way for what I'm up to today with Macha Enterprises, LLC.

Under the banner of Macha Enterprises, we've got a few ventures going on. You might know us as Macha's Yard Maintenance – we've been at it since 2018. We also took the plunge and acquired Crivitz Laundromat in 2018.

And let's not forget about Kelly Lake Storage Units, which we built from the ground up in the same year. We like to keep things busy, you know.

The picture above is from an event for one of the causes that my family and I are most proud of our being a part of. It 's called the Miles for Madyson Cancer Benefit Run . (Madyson likes to be called Mady)

It all started when we met Paul and Betsy Letourneau from LeTourneau Plastics in Oconto while our young daughters were on a traveling competition cheer team and we hit it off right from the start.

However, unfortunately we learned that  their youngest Mady had childhood cancer . Mady's diagnosis inspired the Letourneau family to create an annual charity 5k called Miles for Madyson to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House.

We give what we can for the cause and had the honor of being some of Mady's favorite people ever since we met.  Our families are still very close and go on family vacations every summer taking the kids to explore our National Parks system across the country.

Fortunately, VERY fortunately, Mady is currently in remission and we all still love and spending time together and making more memories with them!

COMMUNITY

Now, it's not just about business for me. I'm deeply involved in my community, and that's something I'm truly proud of. I've volunteered and am a lifetime member of the Kelly Lake Sportsman Club.

Over the years, I've dedicated my time to various boards and committees, all in the spirit of giving back and being part of something bigger.

And then there's my role as a coach – now, that's a story. I might not have been a natural at it, but I've diversified myself to coach my girls in volleyball, basketball, lacrosse, and soccer.

It's a full-time gig, you know, often involving 4-5 nights a week and plenty of weekend travel for tournaments. It's challenging and stressful at times, no doubt about it. But, watching those girls face challenges head-on and grow, well, that's the kind of reward that makes it all worthwhile.

I've coached for the Pulaski Youth Club Lacrosse for two years and the Pulaski Youth Club Soccer team for a whopping seven years. I've also stepped up to coach Oconto Falls Youth Basketball and Volleyball. It's all about supporting the next generation.

But it's not just about sports and business. I've contributed to and participated in community events like the  and the Dash O.F. Color Run.

We're also closely associated with The Nurse's Nook of Oconto County and the Oconto Falls Community Garden. And let's not forget the church events – volunteering is always a great way to give back.

FAMILY

I would like to introduce you to my family. My awesome parents are Earl and Nancy Macha. I was "fortunate" enough to have an older brother Brian and a younger sister Amy.

My beautiful wife is Emily and we have been blessed with 3 daughters. Our youngest is Ava aka Meme who is 11, our middle one is Rylan at 14, and Autumn, the oldest, is 27. We also have an amazing granddaughter Evelyn who is 4 years old.
